Speed Exhibit
About the Exhibit
Shortly after motor cars emerged, people became fascinated with speed, endurance and pushing the limits. When you visit our Speed Exhibit, you’ll be able to see cars that competed from Indy to the treacherous roads of Mexico, enjoy stories of rivers and teams, and learn how innovations from this sport influenced the cars we drive today. View fascinating photos of European racing from 1903 to 1925 produced from the glass plate negatives of Henri Louis Meurisse.
Hear from our Exhibit Visitors
I had no idea of the number of American car manufacturers and the designs they produced. There are race vehicles too of all types including jet engine land speed record cars.
Museum Visitor
This amazing museum traces the development of the automobile - from the 1899 steam-powered models to the jet-propelled world's land-speed holders.

Everything was laid out well. The exhibits were beautiful and extensive. Found the land speed record holder vehicles especially fascinating.
