Research Library
Let our researchers help you find information for your restoration project, a research project or a subject that has captured your interest. The Museum’s extensive Automotive Research Library is world-renowned and the Museum actively conducts research for scholars, journalists, restorers, enthusiasts, and the interested public.
Spanning 100 years of automotive history from an 1895 Horseless Age to the latest AutoWeek publications, holdings include technical books, sales literature, restoration manuals, shop and owner’s manuals, wiring diagrams, upholstery samples, paint color chips and formulas, photographs, and much more.
Since the library contains rare and fragile pieces, it is not open to the public; however, a team of trained researchers perform searches for a fee. Requests are received from every corner of the globe.
To submit a research request, please call the Museum at 775-333-9300, e-mail the museum at info (at) automuseum (dot) org, or enable Javascript and download the latest Adobe Flash player to fill out a research request form online.
